Karate for Kids 2: Respect

You know, I think one of the most important things we learn practicing karate is respect. I think the easiest way to describe what respect is, is to treat other people how you would like to be treated.
There are a lot of ways you can show respect. For instance, you can show respect by not interrupting someone when they are talking. You can also show respect by being kind to someone. You can even show respect for someone by listening to their point of view – even when you may not understand or agree with it.
It might sound weird, but it’s also important to remember to also show respect for yourself. By this I mean do things that will keep your mind and body healthy and strong. For instance, eat healthy foods, exercise, and get plenty of sleep. It’s also important to remember to keep a positive attitude and not be too hard on yourself.
